Making his first appearance in 1983, Orel Hershiser began his Major League career with the Los Angeles Dodgers. His break out year came in '88 when Hershiser pitched 5 consecutive shutout innings breaking Don Drysdale's record 58-inning scoreless streak. Hershiser went 67 innings without being scored on. Also in '88, the Dodgers won the World Series behind Hershiser's stellar pitching. He received the National League Championship Series MVP, World Series MVP, and Cy Young Award.
